Housed in the School of Public Health, the Mark Chaffin Center for Healthy Development connects faculty and staff across Georgia State University to promote the health, safety and well-being of individuals and families. The Chaffin Center is a catalyst for impactful research and engagement that includes six SPH units and centers.

Builds culturally responsive professional capacities to promote family, infant and early childhood mental health development.

The National Center on Child Trafficking
Uses a science-driven approach to guide the development, implementation and evaluation of trauma-informed interventions and resources that improve the lives of impacted children and families and support the professionals who serve them.

The National Center for Sexual Violence Prevention
Conducts research while developing and testing interventions that reduce sexual violence, with a particular focus on high-risk populations such as military service members, college students and adolescents.

The National SafeCare© Training and Research Center
Has reached tens of thousands of families over the past decade through training and implementation support. SafeCare is an evidence-based behavioral parenting program that has been shown to improve positive parenting skills while preventing abuse and neglect.

Prevent Child Abuse Georgia
Works to increase public awareness and implementation of programs and practices that prevent child abuse and neglect while connecting families to needed resources.
