School of Public Health faculty are internationally recognized for tobacco prevention and control research and also apply their expertise to the impacts of alcohol and other substances on population health.
Research Highlights
Alcohol and Sexual Assault Prevention Lab
Researchers in the ASAP lab focus on the development and testing of integrated prevention programs for alcohol and drug use, sexual assault, and sexual risk behaviors among high-risk groups; innovative technology-based interventions to improve the rate of treatment access and decrease treatment drop-out among underserved populations; and secondary prevention programs for individuals who experienced recent sexual assault.


Postdoctoral Fellowship
The Postdoctoral Fellowship in Global Tobacco Research is offered by Georgia State University’s School of Public Health and the CDC Foundation to provide formal training for postdoctoral fellows who can contribute to tobacco control research and build the tobacco control workforce in low- and middle-income countries.
