The Mark Chaffin Centers for Healthy Development is a university-level research center at Georgia State University committed to promoting the health, safety and well-being of children, adults and families through research, service, education, training and advocacy.

Center for Leadership in Disability
The Center for Leadership in Disability (CLD) has been a University Center for Excellence in Developmental Disabilities in the Mark Chaffin Centers for Healthy Development and the School of Public Health at Georgia State since 2008. CLD translates research into sustainable community practices that contribute to independent, self-determined, inclusive and productive lives for people with disabilities and their families.

National Center on Child Trafficking
The National Center on Child Trafficking (NCCT) is one of the six university-level research centers (URCs) and the only non-bench science URC at Georgia State University. Our focus is on evidence-based parenting programs, preventing and addressing child developmental delays, child maltreatment and sexual assault, building social-emotional competencies, and promoting meaningful inclusion and quality of life for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

National SafeCare Training
and Research Center
The mission of the National SafeCare Training and Research Center is to ensure young children have a nurturing, safe and healthy home environment through SafeCare training, implementation support and research. SafeCare's program has three easy modules for providers to deliver and caregivers to utilize: health, safety and parent-child interaction.

Prevent Child Abuse Georgia
Prevent Child Abuse Georgia envisions a state where all children and families thrive in safe, stable, nurturing relationships and environments. We work to increase public awareness and implementation of programs and practices that prevent child abuse and neglect by developing trainings, educating communities and connecting families to needed resources.

Urban Drivers of Resilient
Youth Initiative
ResY scholars focus on understanding and intervening to improve young people’s personal capacities, their relationships with parents, peers, and teachers, and positive connections to their community and culture as the key factors to promote resilient youth.
