- Biography
Dr. Duan is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University. Dr. Duan received his Ph.D. in Epidemiology from Georgia State University in 2021. Before joining the Department of Population Health Sciences faculty, he completed postdoctoral fellowship training at Milken Institute School of Public Health at George Washington University (2021-2023).
Dr. Duan’s primary research interests focus on social determinants and regulatory science related to tobacco and cannabis use and potential disparities among vulnerable population subgroups. His recent work focuses on epidemiological and economic analyses of tobacco and cannabis use, health disparities, marketing of emerging tobacco products, and the effects of regulatory policies among US adolescents and young adults. He has published in the American Journal of Preventive Medicine, Nicotine and Tobacco Research, JAMA Network Open, BMJ Tobacco Control, Addictive Behaviors, Drug and Alcohol Dependence, Preventive Medicine, etc.
