- Biography
Dr. Wang is a Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Population Health Sciences at the Georgia State University School of Public Health. She teaches core Epidemiology courses to both undergraduate and graduate students.
Before joining the faculty, Dr. Wang was a Prevention Effectiveness Fellow at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). During her fellowship, she collaborated with the American Heart Association and the Division for Heart Disease and Stroke Prevention to estimate the economic burden of hypertension and cardiovascular diseases.
Dr. Wang earned her Ph.D. in Public Health Epidemiology from Georgia State University. Her dissertation focused on investigating the role of anti-tobacco campaign and tobacco marketing in individuals’ tobacco use behaviors in the United States. As a Graduate Research Assistant at Georgia State University Tobacco Center of Regulatory Science (TCORS), she contributed to several NIH-funded projects on tobacco economics, marketing, health equity, and regulatory science.
Dr. Wang's research interests include tobacco control and the prevention of heart disease and stroke. She has published her work in numerous peer-reviewed journals, including JAMA Network Open, American Journal of Preventive Medicine, BMJ Tobacco Control, American Journal of Clinical Nutrition, Journal of Hypertension, Nicotine and Tobacco Research, Addictive Behaviors, and Drug and Alcohol Dependence.
