Tetsuro Kobayashi is an expert epidemiologist from Japan and a distinguished visiting professor at the School of Public Health at Georgia State University.
He is assistant professor at Hokkaido University’s Department of Hygiene and Cellular Preventive Medicine. Prior to his career in public health, Dr. Kobayashi was a physician practicing internal medicine.
During his time at Georgia State, Dr. Kobayashi is collaborating with Dr. Gerardo Chowell, professor of epidemiology and biostatistics, on research related to infectious disease modeling, including the transmission dynamics of emerging and re-emerging diseases such as Zika and Middle East Respiratory Syndrome.
