Megan Walsh

- Biography
Megan is originally from Southern California, but she now calls Marietta, GA her home. She is married with two sons who keep her busy and always entertained! She holds a Bachelor of Arts in Sociology from UCLA, and a Master of Social Work from SDSU. Megan has spent almost 20 years in the social work field and her previous work has been at a variety of non-profit agencies serving foster youth and she was the director of a senior center.
In 2022, Megan founded Bridges to Understanding, which is a support group in East Cobb for families who have children with disabilities. Megan combines her years of experience in social work with her lived experience of having a child with a disability. The inspiration for Megan’s work in the disability field comes from her autistic son and creating a world where all individuals with disabilities are included. Megan was a GaLEND trainee in 2022-23 and is now working at Georgia State University in the Center for Leadership in Disability.
