- Biography
Katy Spinks is a Grants and Contracts Officer in the Mark Chaffin Center for Healthy Development in the School of Public Health at Georgia State University, where she coordinates a grant that uses an app to support mothers of infants who are dealing with maternal depression. She previously coordinated a grant braiding two evidence-based child maltreatment programs.
Prior to joining Georgia State, Katy worked as a program coordinator in youth ministry, research field collector for a pre-K curriculum study, and research assistant for a study examining family bereavement. Her graduate comprehensive exam looked at how parents and siblings cope with the loss of a child to cancer and what resources are needed to support those families. She has also worked with children and families in the nonprofit setting, hospitals, and camps. She also completed a Certificate of Public Health at Georgia State.
