Denise Butler is a Senior Human Resources Coordinator for the School of Public Health. Denise has over 30 years of combined administrative, human resources, project management, and customer service skills. Denise joined Georgia State University in November 2017, initially in the Department of Chemistry in the College of Arts and Sciences. She was later selected as the Department Specialist for two departments within the college. She was given more responsibility and accomplished many demanding tasks. During her administrative career, she has developed programs and implemented growth among junior peers while leading them to success. She has been selected for several leading roles in projects while working at the Centers for Disease Control and as a contractor for Laulima Government Solutions, Inc.

Denise has pursued and completed her Bachelor of Science in Information Technology. She has a Master of Business Administration degree in Human Resource Management from Strayer University and is currently completing her Master’s degree in Adult Education. Denise is a Retired United States Marine from New Orleans, Louisiana, who has served more than 20 years.

She has one son, who resides in Virginia. Denise enjoys church activities, visiting with family and traveling.
