Student Organizations
Delta Omega Honorary Society

The Delta Omega Honorary Society was founded in 1924 at Johns Hopkins University to promote the study of public health, which at the time was a relatively new field.
The Gamma Upsilon Chapter at the School of Public Health at Georgia State was established in 2014 to recognize its students and public health professionals who are dedicated to advancing the wellbeing of all people. The chapter now includes more than 70 members. The chapter inducts no more than 10 percent of the school’s current graduating student body annually, and all student inductees must be in the upper 25 percent of their class.
GlobeMed at Georgia State
A university-based nonprofit organization that enables students and grassroots organizations around the world to work together to improve the health of people living in poverty. Through their involvement today, students commit to a life of leadership in global health and social justice. Each chapter is partnered one-to-one with a grassroots health organization in Africa, Asia, or the Americas. Through their involvement today, our students and partners commit to a life of leadership in global health and social justice. Throughout the year, GlobeMed chapters strengthen long-term partnerships through frequent communication, fundraise through innovative initiatives for projects that help partner organizations achieve their mission, educate students about global health issues through a signature curriculum, and intern on-site with partner organizations.
