Nurez Madhany’s path to his public health career didn’t begin until he was nearly 20 years into a career in hospitality, managing restaurants and owning a club in Atlanta. But he knew he wanted to do something different, and he knew he wanted to help people.

Daniela O’Connell, the Senior Deputy Director at the Public Health Informatics Institute at the Task Force for Global Health in Decatur, is excited and optimistic about artificial intelligence and its potential uses in her field.

The opportunity to improve public health in Afghanistan is what brought Dawood Azeemy to the United States and the Georgia State SPH through the Fulbright Scholarship Program.

Haddi Sanneh earned her associate degree in health science as well as a bachelor’s degree and a Master of Public Health (MPH) with a concentration in health promotion and behavior from Georgia State University’s School of Public Health.

Kyra Parks (MPH 2022) is a resource management consultant supporting the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s Global Health Center. In this role, she helps allocate funding across the global health work there.

Nick Johnson (MPH 2016) co-leads the statistics team serving the Division of Foodborne, Waterborne, and Environmental Diseases at the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.
