An innovative training board game for radiation safety that DrPH student Lauren Finklea designed as an in-class project has gone on to win an award, become a CDC product and inspire a training for congressional staff that she developed.

DrPH student Sasha Smith, who serves as the Chief Epidemiologist for the Fulton County Board of Health, says the program has honed her leadership skills with a comprehensive curriculum that emphasizes practical experiences, ethical considerations and networking.

Zeshan Chisty, one of 10 doctoral candidates nationwide to be named a 2023-24 APHA Kaiser Permanente Community Health Scholar, enrolled in GSU’s DrPH program to become a more effective public health leader.
