Dr. Stauber is an assistant professor in the Institute of Public Health where she will teach courses in Environmental Health. Recently, Dr. Stauber has worked as a consultant for the World Bank on a hand hygiene project in Peru. She also worked with the North Carolina State Public Health Laboratory, examining the burden of parasitic diseases in migrant farm workers. Her research focuses on the relationship between the lack of access to water, sanitation and hygiene and the global burden of diarrheal disease.

For the last five years, Dr. Stauber has studied household drinking water treatment as a mechanism to improve household drinking water quality and reduce diarrheal disease. She managed randomized controlled trials on household water treatment in the Dominican Republic, Ghana and Honduras. Dr Stauber has also been involved in evaluating tests for detecting E. coli in drinking water to be used in resource limited settings.

Dr. Stauber received her Ph.D. in Environmental Sciences from the University of North Carolina and M.S. and B.S. in Soil, Water and Environmental Science from the University of Arizona.

Dr. Stauber's C.V. is available in PDF format.
