Mary Anne Adams, MSW, Director of the Community Engagement Core in the Center of Excellence on Health Disparities Research joined the School of Public Health as a Project Director in May 2007. She has 20 years of experience managing and conducting research and evaluation in a variety of areas, including childhood mental health, breast cancer, contraceptive use, gender-specific substance abuse, LGBT health, aging services, childhood asthma, public housing relocation, health literacy and diabetes, and HIV epidemiology. She has led and participated in many aspects of training, research and evaluation, including study design; direction and implementation of quantitative and qualitative data collection; and collaborating with agency, community, and scientific partners.
Prior to coming to GSU, Ms. Adams worked in research management at both Emory and Morehouse Schools of Medicine. She received her Master of Social Work at GSU with a focus on Community Partnerships.
