Our quality of life is in part defined by the ability to safely walk and perform other types of physical activity for recreation, fitness, and access to local transporation and various services. The purpose of this project is to study, and discuss in groups of volunteer seniors (ages 60 and over), built (physical) environmental factors in the communities adjacent to at least five senior wellness centers and thus nearby schools and services. These factors may influence the health and well-being of those susceptible populations. In particular, we will examine areas within walking distance, including the closest public transit (MARTA bus) stop.
