The Institute of Public Health (IPH) welcomes the second cohort of Doctor of Philosophy students. The cohort includes 12 students (2 were unavailable for the photo), including four men and eight women who hail from across the U.S., as well as Canada, Ghana, and Colombia.
The IPH Ph.D. program is the only public university public health doctoral program in the Atlanta area. Students are expected to become highly-educated health prevention scientists trained to design research, conduct studies, analyze and interpret data, and disseminate study results. IPH Ph.D. students will have the opportunity to hone their skills by assisting in many research projects made possible by the Institute’s $6.7 million federal research grant for reducing health care disparities.
PhD applications for Fall 2013 are currently being accepted. The application deadline is February 1, 2013. Please contact Dr. Shannon Self-Brown if you are interested in learning more about the program. For more info, click here.
