The Georgia Health Foundation Scholarship provides one-time awards of $5,000 to
qualified students enrolled in the MPH program at Georgia State University.
Scholarship funds may be used to offset the costs of tuition, fees, living expenses, books
and supplies, during the period of graduate enrollment. The scholarship is awarded
upon enrollment in the MPH program, and funds are dispensed semi-annually at a rate
of $1,250 over a two year period, based on successful and continuous matriculation
and academic progress. Students must be enrolled in a minimum of 9 credit hours per semester.
Up to eight (8) scholarships will be awarded annually to outstanding Georgia students
in the Georgia State MPH program. Scholarship applications will be accepted and
considered for initial award during fall and spring semesters, at the time the student
begins the program. The deadline for scholarship application is the same as the
deadline for each application cycle (e.g., March 1 and September 1). Criteria include

To apply, students should submit a cover letter and a two-to-three page essay
addressing the scholarship criteria and detailing the student’s qualifications for the

Scholarship award notices will be provided to applicants at the time of admission
decision. In considering scholarship applications, the Institute of Public Health may
request additional information of applicants and may request to schedule a personal
interview.
